HOT SPOT Mapping: how SAFER anticipates production of geo information
Within the Emergency Response Service (ERS) we aim to create an archive of mapping products of areas identified as vulnerable to disasters, which will be readily available in case of a disaster. The advantage of creating maps outside the demanding time constraints of an ongoing crisis is that products with a higher degree of accuracy associated with a more rigorous and less time dependent process can be delivered rapidly at the onset of a disaster.
