Your feedback Volcanoes European volcanoes are an important source of hazard. They are concentrated on the margins of the European continent: in theMid-Atlantic Ridge (Iceland, Azores), the Canary Islands, southern Italy, and the Aegean Sea. Despite their well know localization, effect of their activities represent a source of risk for the surrounding infrastructures and citizen. To help the European Civil Protection Units to face the hazard on a more structured basis, the E&V Platform provides services and products aimed at facilitating the risk management during the whole risk cycle (Pre-crisis, Crisis and Post crisis). Earthquakes The Earthquake Monitoring and Damage Evaluation Service provide soil displacement maps for the prevention phase and performs amonitoring of the co-seismic displacement and the damage detection in urban areas during crisis phase in case of earthquake.
