Landslides are natural hazards of significant relevance worldwide and in particular for mountainous regions. They are typically the result of the occurrence of extreme natural events (i.e. heavy rainfall, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, floods, etc.) combined with conditioning factors that are very often related to human activities (e.g. land use changes, deforestation, soil erosion, infrastructure works). Landslide hazards are widespread in the European Union. Sometimes landslides are catastrophic events producing hundred or thousands casualties; more often landslides produce severe damage to buildings and infrastructures due to slow continuous movements or intermittent reactivations. The services range includes: Landslide Inventory MappingLandslide Inventory Mapping (LIM) represents a thematic reference service carried out over large areas (few thousands square kilometres) reporting the spatial distribution of past landslides. Landslide MonitoringLandslide Monitoring (LM) represents a thematic reference service carried out to retrieve the past ground movements of single large landslides affecting built-up areas with a high risk level.
